on-line bookies. I operate a sort of Kelly system - after a win, my
stakes go up, after a loss my stakes go down. I don't chase losses.

If I continue my 'fun' trial here on RGL, I'm not going to vary the
stakes at all - each bet will be a notional one unit and the results
evaluated as a simple profit/loss.

if it was unsuccessful I would chase that lost stake. Over 6 months I was successful. But yes it was a tortuous process.

It was with Marathonbet. I don't know if they still do this.

I bet most of that time period you were making a loss. The secret is to
stop betting as soon as you're in profit.

My recollection is that I wasn't in a loss most of the time. I had built up
my required minimum deposit of £20 with Marathon bet to over a £100. That
was on those small stakes, so that recovery would be achievable. Mind you my bets weren't only on a number divisible by 5 but I can't really remember the other ones in their table. When one bet in one country's lotto had failed
then others were ok. It was tedious but if you're going to make it pay then "fun" goes out the window.
