Coming to a conclusion.
Yes, is anyone still buying this crypto crap? It's like looking to invest with Madoff.

federal system.

Ya, it doesn't look like a slap-on-the-wrist coming; and as far as total money involved, Bankman Fried is light years beyond Madoff, and Madoff got hit with a big sentence;
____________
I never paid any attention to SBF until his legal troubles. The stunning part to me is that when I watch any interview that he does, he comes across as a totally clueless idiot, like a Gen -Z moron without any grasp on complex issues, and his girlfriend was even worse.
I suppose it's a Monday Morning QB situation where we can all see it now. The journalists gave him a pass as perhaps an eccentric savant, which is in some ways understandable because what other explanation is there when you're talking to an idiot but the idiot is worth $100 billion? It's a lesson that you always need to consider the other explanation: he really is an idiot running a Ponzi scheme.
Twitter says that the O/U on his sentence is 80 years. Usually the feds run sentences concurrently (so seven 20-year sentences running consecutively is unlikely), so I would guess under that, but it's going to be substantial because the sentencing guidelines are driven by the dollar amount of the fraud, and in this case it's yoooooge.
