    Groupthink can take on a life of it's own. It's very dangerous when you get a group of influential people living in their own echo chamber...whether it be billionaires thinking they should control the world together....celebrities....educators all with
    the same political philosophy, and definitely the military.

    The people who I'd trust are those who who are free from any groupthink and can rationally examine all evidence and form their own thoughts....the Mavericks in the world.

    Wilson was talking about *monopoly capitalism*, Poppy. He goes
    on to say:
    | ...
    | American industry is not free, as once it was free;
    | American enterprise is not free; the man with only a little
    | capital is finding it harder to get into the field, more
    | and more impossible to compete with the big fellow. Why?
    | Because the laws of this country do not prevent the strong
    | from crushing the weak.

    .

    After I entered politics - except for one - the men and women confiding in me were seeking my advice and expertise. I was 'hired' to run a campaign; and did. The one, sitting in the back of the meeting they invited me to, later contacted me and asked me
    to come to his home so he could "confide to me privately." He had been a Nixon campaign manager and had some 'advice' for me; a (Nixon) dirty trick.

    I applied it. It worked. I got above-the-fold exposure, invited to a TV debate, and I won.

    As for "not speaking above their breath" or "condemnation" and all that BS. LOL!

    Random people in a crowd would respond to you if you pulled down your pants and took a shit in the middle of a casino. That's apparently your definition of influential.
