• Vegas Slots Trip

This is a channel I stumbled upon, and it shows a trip based on playing the slot machines; which I found interesting not being a slot-player myself. And, they know how to present a pretty good streaming narrative; and visit a lot of different casinos an
    restaurants.

It takes place in late last December, staying at Wynn Las Vegas: note the reduced crowds over all during the December "slow weeks" in Vegas.
This video is just one day of the trip, and the others are available from the channel.

What a "river view" from a Harrah's "corner room." Small room though.

I've done this drive a couple of ways. The more interesting way is through AZ and old route 66 and through Oatman before you cross the river to Nevada again.

They went through Searchlight, Nevada, hometown of Harry Reid.

I didn't watch the whole vid, but I think the room they are in is at River Side. I used to get flown out to Harrah's Laughlin on Junkets. It's been many years, but I don't recall them having balconies. It's pretty funny. They think it would be nice
to visit Laughlin in Summer. It gets hot as fuck. Makes Vegas feel like a cooler.

One day I looked out my hotel room to the river and tubers and boaters floating down the river, having a grand old time. When I woke up in the morning the river was gone. Just a trickle. Very weird.

LOL. That's funny. They must have closed the Davis Dam overnight.

Makes me think of the time I was heading north on 15 and, impromptu, decided to take the Sahara exit because I hadn't been to the Lucky Dragon casino for a while. I parked in the garage and the elevator goes down to a mezzanine balcony overlooking the
casino where you switch elevators (or something like that, can't remember, exactly). It seemed very quiet so I walked over and looked down. Almost everything was gone. Just a few game tables and upended chairs. Ghostly. WTF? I wasn't paying attention to
the local news. It shut down. Makes you realize how superficial Las Vegas is.

    .

They used to comp us at the Riverside in Laughlan. Just a short drive from Vegas, but quieter. Three days, mid-week. We'd do it two or three times a year. All you had to do was use their card and do all your gambling in their casino.

I'd play poker while the wife did slots. At lunch time I'd get a pass from the poker room that let me (and the wife) jump the lunch line. Nice quiet town. We'd wander to the other casinos or right the boat taxi.

I liked the Edgewater. They had a long bar with a window going all the way through with a view of the river. Good beer. They had triple play NSUD. I was a pig in shit.

I did something similar at the Golden Pheonix in Reno. Walked in to a dead casino. Maybe a couple of table games going. A lot of stuff removed. They were a day or two away from closing. Side note --It's where the Cooler was filmed. Now the Stardust
stayed active until the end. Boardwalk too, maybe. The DI seemed dead, but it was always a pretty sedate casino.
