Jack, note that we were the only ones discussing the Masters. Guaranteed some watch it, yet, they won't post.

The reason is that they're incapable of discussing anything, or for very long, because they're assholes with personality disorders.

For example, they don't respond to most of my "general interest" posts because they're afraid to appear deferential and therefore supportive of "someone elses" thread; the substance of the subject matter means nothing to them, only "who's getting the
attention." Ya know, that's how they see it in their flawed minds.

When everything is viewed as a pissing contest, there's very little interesting discussion possible.

Normal people would be posting about all kinds of things they're interested-in and be posting about it; because they'd like to discuss it further with various opinions-given, but not here.

Basically, to expect response, one needs to drop to their level and present everything in a "challenging format." I.e., if it isn't a: "I'm right, you're wrong," their childish instincts aren't stimulated; kind of like cats with the mouse on the end of
the string with the fishing pole.

Bottom line, they're all assholes with bare minimum exception.

And just so you know, Jack, I think you have been a high point in the group since you have come back. You add a lot to the group.

I appreciate that Paul. I think this group was always at it's best when it was treated like a $3-6 limit poker game where nobody was stressed and everyone could bring up a topic and we see where the conversation goes. Back in NorCal in the small
rooms, before NL poker, you could get arguments over water rights(which I think we had here too), mining rights, whatever article was in Cardplayer(back when they had actual articles and not all tourney crap). I don't recall politics being much of a
problem up there because the woke bullshit pretty much didn't exist up there back then....and of course endless funny poker related things. Always someone at the table who had just come back from some other room. If anyone won a poker trophy, they'd
drag it into the room to show off. We even had an old time poker dealer from the Stardust, Binions, and later Riviera who had the very best stories about some of the known characters at the time. It's funny that Vegas Jerry tries to claim he's an
old vegas dealer who had juice, but you never hear him have any good poker stories from Vegas. Now, THAT is a tell. I've heard stories spanning from Johnny Moss having dealers fired from Stardust to Benny Binions fronting money to loan sharks.....mine
shaft stories, lake mead stories(which seemingly are turning out to be true during this last drought). There's a lot of vegas history and vegas poker history I think that's been dying off that no one will even know about since the game has changed.
There are few good stories these days....just a bunch of manic depressive children on adderall betting their rent money in a single hand. There are a couple decent Vloggers out there. Trooper97 is interesting in that his game has some very obvious
leaks that any seasoned pro can see, but all you hear from Trooper(and every other local degen in vegas) is how they are just clobbering all the tourists. If Trooper went to Commerce or Hawaiian Gardens, it'd be a brutal experience for his bankroll
The new characters in the poker world just aren't as interesting. In a way, it's like this group. I could sit in on a NL table in vegas and some 25yr old "pro" tweaking on adderall will somehow think he has the right to make the entire table shut up
for 5min as he debates a $30 call. Or, could you imagine having some loser dealer like Jerry at the table and calling everyone player a liar because they have brought citations and documentation of everything they say during a convo at the table?
It's always a dealer like Jerry who ruins the game. Makes you wonder if he dealt at one of those rooms where the women have to share tokes with the male dealers....cuz that's about the only way he's getting paid. And, Paul, I'd probably visit some
indian casinos, but every one I've been to in CA seems to be immersed in a cloud of cigarette smoke...apparently CA smoking laws don't apply to Indian casinos.

    1. He wasn't that decorated....the purple heart he earned by dying was his own real medal...rest of them were service medals everyone got for being there.

OK I meant, he was in Normandy, Ardennes and more, that's like every major shitplace, so his multiple medals would reflect that - plus the final one. Tragic irony he survived through all that only to become the last American documented fatality in WWII.

    2. Never believe the hype over the "last" casualty. There were plenty more killed by german "werewolves" who killed several thousand allied soldiers AFTER the war was over.

Remnants of resistance post-surrender were not WWII acts - just terrorist, mere criminal acts, since not carried out under any German command's orders, and they'd be dealt with accordingly. So technically, it's correct to say he was the last fatality in
    WWII.
Once German surrender was declared and communication reached the commands, WWII technically ceased in the Western front. So, no more WWII KIA occurred AFTER that. It's just a milestone.

    3. Many more soldiers died of their wounds after the war.

Sure, but those weren't KIA but WIA.

    4. Having said all that, Millions of germans died AFTER the war...both intentionally by Patton not caring for prisoners he didn't want to fight again to all the ethnic germans kicked out of the various european countries they lived in and being raped
and killed while being starved and walking back to a Germany they didn't even know as home.

AFTER the war that is, so they weren't direct WWII fatalities, in a statistical sense. All them were victims to WWII sequels.

The Dollar Index is currently only 102.75, so this last dip has got me confused. I just don't get it.

By the way, I have been acquiring dimes lately, whenever I can find a cheap deal, and with no sales tax, Mercurys and Roosevelts. It's a change somewhat in my strategy of acquiring 1-oz rounds or foreign 1-oz coins. I picture myself buying a loaf of

I'm not sure it'll ever get to that....if so you might want bullets instead. Plus, constitutional silver has a big premium these days. Even rounds have big premiums. IMO, best bet is 100oz Royal Canadian Mint bars. Something with low premium,
that dealers can move easily when you sell back. Regarding the USD, it probably won't tank until the Fed eases on the rates and that'll probably be during the Presidential campaign season....but could come earlier. I've been targeting Sep 15th time
frame as Sep 15 is quad witching hour and metals like to go up after summer and into Jan. My hope is they go up towards the end of summer, but then keep going up until the Presidential election.

The silver institute always puts out the numbers. But, there is great reason to believe the industrial silver used to keep increasing quickly as China starts double siding their solar panels and the new designs will need pure silver and none some alloy
to have desired performance. This doesn't even factor in an increasingly productive India which themselves soaked up a huge chunk of silver last year. And, gold and silver sales will be increasing in other countries as fiats worldwide debase...after
all, why keep your cash in fiat currency that loses so much value, when you can hold precious metals that will keep up with inflation.

    1. He wasn't that decorated....the purple heart he earned by dying was his own real medal...rest of them were service medals everyone got for being there.
    2. Never believe the hype over the "last" casualty. There were plenty more killed by german "werewolves" who killed several thousand allied soldiers AFTER the war was over.
    3. Many more soldiers died of their wounds after the war.
    4. Having said all that, Millions of germans died AFTER the war...both intentionally by Patton not caring for prisoners he didn't want to fight again to all the ethnic germans kicked out of the various european countries they lived in and being raped
and killed while being starved and walking back to a Germany they didn't even know as home.

Let alone the Germans in the Russian sector kept at 800 calories a day.

I'm not sure it'll ever get to that....if so you might want bullets instead. Plus, constitutional silver has a big premium these days. Even rounds have big premiums. IMO, best bet is 100oz Royal Canadian Mint bars. Something with low premium, that

Yes, I am aware of the premiums on Constitutional Silver, that's why I stopped acquiring. But what I am getting now are dimes when the seller does not know what they're doing. Maybe they will sell at an odd time of day, or they may not be well known,
anyway, I put my bid in at a low enough amount and if I don't win the bid then I don't lose anything. And I also escape sales tax and get free shipping when I can. If the stars don't line up, I don't buy.

Also, I wait for hot deals on Rounds and Foreign coins, when premium is $2.50. And I have zero bars, coins only.

Nice work. I couldn't bring myself to spend 10K on the ME. I am too firmly in the AP camp, I guess, and there is no advantage for me there. I have played a couple of multi day tournaments and it can make you feel like you have been put through the
wringer. For me, anyway. The level of concentration required over many hours. Trying not to blow yourself up with one stupid decision. I remember playing a Deepstack years ago. I satellited into it in the morning and we didn't bag chips until after
midnight, I think. Maybe 15 hours of tournament poker. I remember dragging my ass to my room to bed. When I slept my eyes were moving under my lids, still seeing cards. Pretty sure my hands were moving too. Very disconcerting.

Literally nobody has an advantage in these tournaments except a few celebrities who are allowed to get away with abusing and intimidating their opponents like Phil Hellmuth. The latitude they are given is grotesque. Otherwise, factoring in the travel,
the rake, tip, taxes, and your time and tournaments are outright stupid. Plus, how are they any fun? Sitting there for too many hours and fighting over the bathrooms with shit food options during breaks, plus, you practically need a shrink after

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play? I enjoy tournaments. They are entertaining, but if I'm spending 10K on entertainment I expect there to be hookers and blow involved... actually, a nice vacation is more my style.
Side note: I always considered Helmuth a clown, which he is, but I saw him face to face IRL at the GN back in the PAD days. He's a pretty big dude. I reconsidered. Clownish on TV, but I could see how his abuse might intimidate and effect some players.

Ya, a lot of people seem to love tourneys. I prefer to be able to show up when I want and quit when I want. Proper poker playing hours is 10PM-5AM.

Well, that's my theory about going to the movies these days, but online poker has it's own problems. Sometimes I just tell myself it's better to look back having enjoyed the good days of vegas and poker rather than try to keep repeating the experience
these days when the conditions are so much worse. And, besides, having kids is expensive and keeps you mentally occupied. And, when they become adults, they get even more expensive.
