• Public image advice for Joe Biden

From risky biz@21:1/5 to All on Thu Mar 16 20:53:52 2023
When you approach a podium or enter a room drop that brief trot you do to project an image of youthfulness. It just makes you look older.

Anyway, most Americans don't vote for someone for President because that person is good at running.

Yet he as an exercise routine which includes that.

Do they vote for them only if they were the ones they wanted in the Primary?
Or because they promise to take away their Social Security and Medicare?

Too late. Fox obviously hasn't show you your President bicycling and jogging. (Which proves you don't watch real news).

There are several things Biden could do to improve his public image.
First, stop falling up and down the steps of Air Force One, stop falling
off his bicycle, tell his handlers to use smaller words and bigger letters
on his teleprompter and continue to hide him from the press.

Or, better yet, just admit he is mentally impaired, doesn't have a clue
about what is going on and is totally incapable of leading this country.

Mike, I was worried about your quote so I Googled it.

Only got 5 hits. I changed the wording and reference and got 6 hits but
none really showed any good reference.

I began to think it is a made up quote. Then it occurred to me that
maybe Google was censoring the quote.

Bing delivered millions and millions of references.

Apparently Google has become the Fox News of the left. I would not have believed it.

The exact quote as Mike posted it brought me 400,000+ results.
    Changing "Joe's" by "one's" brought 2,400,000.

There's nothing conclusive about that. Media often allows the quest for public attention to overide journalistic ethics. And the individual journalist who produced the quote could have been an underhanded Buttigieg supporter during the primaries. Any
journalist or media repeating a single-sourced, anonymous quote has questionable ethics just on the face of it.

'May' is not an adequate journalistic standard. 'Likely' should be the minimum and that wouldn't apply to a single-sourced anonymous quote.

Let's recall how Christine Blasey Ford was excoriated when she testified publicly under great pressure and had a degree of corroboration to back her up. Why such an easy pass on this supposed Obama quote?

~ It is interesting that it comes from a left leaning publication. Should
we doubt everything from that source?

I see no reason to not approach any media with a degree of doubt.

I will, admittedly, relax my doubts when it seems likely that a perpetrator took care to exclude supplementary evidence or witnesses and exhibits characteristics that are in sync with the attributed act or statement.

~ The so called "quote" may be true and may not be true.

The "quote" does not get an easy pass. It was just another piece of
"news" that we hear every day. Does it matter whether it is true or
not? No, it does not ... just another bit of news.

You seem to doubt that Obama would ever say what he is reported to have
said ... why? Is there a statement from Obama that he did NOT say it?
That might give some doubt on way of the other. Is it at all important
    one way or the other?

The most interesting thing about it is the source ... if the "quote"
came from FOX, I would have almost no confidence in the accuracy of the
    quote.

Bing delivered millions and millions of references.

Apparently Google has become the Fox News of the left. I would not have
    believed it.

I got plenty of hits. The hits were repeated mentions of the quote which was originally single-sourced to 'anonymous'. Now Irish Mike's repeat of the quote has become one more search hit. Which gives it not a shred more credibility.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-biden-underestimate-quote/ >>>> Ah, so snopes says "unproven" so it cannot have happened. The person >>>> that heard it must be a liar.

~ Unlike you, risky, to pick such a weak single idea that convinces you
that the truth is so clear.

That's a mischaracterization. The weak, single idea is a single-sourced, anonymous 'quote'. It deserves no respectable status.

[I do think Google is NOT censoring the quote ... I had quotation marks
around the proposed "quote" ... when I removed those quotation marks, I
got a lot of hits ... but I did not look for only one that might be used
    to find the absolute answer.]

It does not really matter, of course, the president is not a strong one
and it is possible that Obama was just spouting off. The comment was >>>> apparently made at a difficult time.

~ Politico is the source of the quote.
    https://www.allsides.com/news-source/politico-media-bias

I suppose they lie a lot about a lot of things ... hummm

There's nothing conclusive about that. Media often allows the quest for public attention to overide journalistic ethics. And the individual journalist who produced the quote could have been an underhanded Buttigieg supporter during the primaries.
Any journalist or media repeating a single-sourced, anonymous quote has questionable ethics just on the face of it.

~ The so called "quote" may be true and may not be true.

Why such an easy pass on this supposed Obama quote?
    .
    .

The "quote" does not get an easy pass. It was just another piece of
"news" that we hear every day. Does it matter whether it is true or
not? No, it does not ... just another bit of news.
    .
And there's the Republican hook, "Truth does not matter." Just as Fox News owner Rupert Murdoc
    sated in his Dominion deposition.
    .
    .

~ You seem to doubt that Obama would ever say what he is reported to have
    said ... why?

Why do I have to doubt or not doubt whether Obama said it or didn't say it?

Simple procedure- single-sourced, anonymous = yeah, so you say.

~ Is there a statement from Obama that he did NOT say it?
That might give some doubt on way of the other. Is it at all important
    one way or the other?
That seems to be the case for you.

~ The most interesting thing about it is the source ... if the "quote"
came from FOX, I would have almost no confidence in the accuracy of the quote.
Fox and Politico are the same thing to me.

    Bingo!

Did you watch the video, Jerry? Do you really think Biden can run more than the 10 seconds it takes to make a video?

Did you see all the question you CUT and, "*Knew you couldn't answer*" in each reply?

BTS had the sense to just disappear...

Like BillB says, you simply ignore those embarrassing questions, cut them, and change the subject.

Too late. Fox obviously hasn't show you your President bicycling and jogging. (Which proves you don't watch real news).

Anyway, most Americans don't vote for someone for President because that person is good at running.

Do they vote for them only if they were the ones they wanted in the Primary?

There's nothing conclusive about that. Media often allows the quest for public attention to overide
    journalistic ethics.

And they often admit it. Take the recorded depiction of Rupert Murdoc in the Dominion case (where FOX News is being suit for $1.6 Billion) where he admitted to such.

[Extract][as shown in other posts that you wingnuts ran from]

“It’s not about Blue or Red, it’s about Green.”
‘Yes, FOX will lie to its audience; but we don’t want to lose viewers like we did to Newsmax.’
‘No I will not allow our people to tell our audience this.’

    https://tinyurl.com/5fu34kb3

    https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/27/business/media/fox-news-dominion-rupert-murdoch.html

The point being, all these statements, ‘facts,’ and thories, are from FOX. Who ADMITS they lie to you.

And the individual journalist who produced the quote could have been an underhanded Buttigieg supporter
    during the primaries.

“Could have been?” So where did you get this? FOX? Are you afraid to tell us. Again?
