• Ohio Derailment: Buttigieg Bashing Turns Bipartisan

Buttigieg Bashing Over Response to Ohio Derailment Turns Bipartisan

From Buttigieg's blame-someone-else tour 3 weeks after the toxic spill:

'Among Buttigieg’s efforts is a demand railroads provide proactive advance notification to state emergency response teams when they are transporting hazardous gas tank cars through their states instead of expecting first responders to look up this
information after an incident occurs. ' https://www.wfmj.com/story/48436463/transportation-secretary-in-east-palestine-wants-norfolk-southern-to-support-expanded-safety-regulations

TWO YEARS AGO was too soon for that? He was too busy traveling around handing out the Build Back checks, i.e., campaigning for 2024.

Go back to that little podunkville in the Midwest. You didn't even do a good job at that.

Let's not forget the union busting, too bad if rail workers get sick and need to go to a doctor, how narcissistic to expect one whole day when Mayor Pete only got 2 months of baby leave.

Overworked, exhausted, and possibly sick rail workers hauling 20,000 tons of toxic crap through small towns, what could go wrong.

They are now saying the bearings in one of the Cars froze and when the train braked because the car was getting overheated, the frozen bearing caused the derailment. Blame is on the car owner which is a company owned by Sunoco.

That makes sense ... but may not be the only reason for such a giant derailment. [It is possible that Trump was secretly working with Sunoco

It does appear to be a bad bearing, which is most often the case. Again, the fault lies with the railroad company. Many years ago the 'rules' were, you had to have an Engineer and a Fireman. The fireman road in the caboose and could see and smell if
there were a hotbox. (Hotbox is where the bearings go dry or get hot. The smoke and smell would alert the fireman and he's signal the engineer to stop).

Some of the rules ('Regulations' that Republicans hate) were removed and now you don't need a fireman; and the trains can be much longer and heaver.

The fault lies with the removal of regulations.

The additional braking systems additions were indeed what was removed
... but would the additional braking systems not present have prevented
the accident? That was the question ... the non-political question. In
this group only "comments" that support a political position seem
important. Jerry seems to think what FOX NEWS reports is the only thing
that matters in any discussion ... he seems to be the only one that
    watches FOX so closely.

They are now saying the bearings in one of the Cars froze and when the train braked because the car was getting overheated, the frozen bearing caused the derailment. Blame is on the car owner which is a company owned by Sunoco.

One regulation removed in the Trump years pertained to additional braking systems for railcars with hazardous materials.

If those safety regulations were still in effect, could this accident
have happened? What caused the accident? Was it track out of repair?
    Do you know anything more?
    .
They are now saying the bearings in one of the Cars froze and when the train braked because the car was getting overheated, the frozen bearing caused the derailment. Blame is on the car owner which is a company owned by Sunoco.
    .
It does appear to be a bad bearing, which is most often the case. Again, the fault lies with the railroad company. Many years ago the 'rules' were, you had to have an Engineer and a Fireman. The fireman road in the caboose and could see and
smell if there were a hotbox. (Hotbox is where the bearings go dry or get hot. The smoke and smell would alert the fireman and he's signal the engineer to stop).

Some of the rules ('Regulations' that Republicans hate) were removed and now you don't need a fireman; and the trains can be much longer and heaver.

~ The fault lies with the removal of regulations.

    (I'm from a railroad family)
    .
    Genetic expertise is precious.

    Any expertise is.

Why didn't Buttigieg and the Democrats in Congress reverse that in the TWO YEARS that they could have?
    .
Because they couldn't. You don't 'reverse,' that which was removed. It takes a new bill. Which
    Republicans simply block.
    .

That smug, flip-off response is nonsense.
    .

Yet factual. It’s YOUR response that’s nonsense.
    .
The Democrats were in control of Congress and the White House for TWO FULL YEARS.
    The Republicans couldn't block anything.
I suggest Government 101 for people that don’t understand what Filibuster means.
If anything was blocked it was by the Democrat's campaign DONORS.
    .
It will also educate you that campaign donors don’t block legislation.
    .

Now, "Why did Republicans accept bribery money from the RR companies and remove the rule?"

For the same reason the Democrats accept bribery money and don't do anything.
    .
Christ! BillB is right about you. You have no clue as to how government works, much less how to
read a statement with understanding. Now try reading that again.

“"Why did Republicans accept bribery money from the RR companies and remove the rule?"
    .

Did you get it this time?

'Blame everything on the Republicans' is getting long in the tooth.
    .
Crying that "Everything is blamed on Republicans" is, too.
    .
Yet who do we blame when it IS the Republicans?
    .
    Republicans.

Forget it. Even Government 101 would be over your head.
    .

When it IS the Republicans and, in this case, when it IS the Democrats, too.
    .
Show how it was the Democrats that removed the rules.
    .

    *** NO SHOW ***

    .
(You can even use OPEN BOOK with your Government 101)
In any case, Buttigieg did exactly nothing about any of the related issues in the past two years
    .

    What “related issues”?

    *** NO REPLY NOTED ***
    .

    and almost completely …

    “Almost completely…”

LOL! Try a little English Composition while you’re attempting to reeducate yourself.
    .
    ignored the Ohio toxic spill
    .
Except for the “Almost” part? LOL!
    .
UNTIL it became a public relations issue that affected HIM.
    .
Except for the “Almost” part you can’’t explain? *** LOL! ***
    .

    *** Still can’t explain? ***
    .

He was too busy campaigning to be America's first queer presidential nominee.
    .
~ Ah! There it is. Your hidden homophobia is showing…
(You’re the gift that keeps on giving…)
    .

    I'm sorry.

    You sure are..

Buttigieg being queer is a secret..

    LOL!

and I'm supposed to keep that secret? Please explain.

No, YOU explain how it’s a secret.
