The Menghu game is a draw-and-discard game played by three active players plus one passive player with one complete pack of 120 money-suited cards. It prevails in the north of Shaanxi province. The 1st picture in Tom's FAQ11b (http://sloperama.com/mjfaq/
mjfaq11b.html) is a deck of Shaanxi style. In this game the dealer gives each of the other players 30 cards and himself 31. A winning hand in Menghu is composed of:

1/ Sequences of 3 or more cards.

2/ Leopards [horizontal sets with 3 cards of the same number from 3 suits] of 3 or more cards.

3/ Bonus sets of 3 or more cards. Bonus sets include:
    9 Cash, 1 Strings, 1 Myriads,
    8 Cash, 2 Strings, 2 Myriads,
    7 Cash, 3 Strings, 3 Myriads,
White Flower, 8 Strings, 9 Myriads,
Red Flower, 9 Strings, 9 Myriads,
Red Flower, 9 Strings, Old Thousand,
    1 Cash, 2 Cash, 3 Cash.

4/ Triplets or quadruplets [3 or 4 of a kind].

5/ Aces. Ace cards include: 1 Cash, 1 Strings, 1 Myriads, White Flower, Red Flower, 9 Strings, Old Thousand, 5 Myriads and 8 Myriads.

The scoring elements in Menghu are the following:
    Bonus set: 1 hu
Peng (碰, exposed triplet): 1/2 hu (2 hu for Aces)
An (暗, concealed triplet): 2/4 hu
Shua (刷, exposed quadruplet): 4/8 hu
Shenxian (神仙, concealed quadruplet): 5/10 hu
Ace cards: 1 hu for each ace card not used in a sequence
Piao Hu (飘和, Floating Hand, a winning hand made from an initial hand without triplets or quadruplets): 1 double
Hun Hu (荤和, Meat Hand, a winning hand with each set of melds receiving points): 1 double
Quan Hun Piao (全荤飘, All Meat Floating Hand, a mixture of Piao Hu and Hun Hu): 2 double
    Heavenly Hand: 1 double
    Earthly Hand: 1 double

Ten hu is a minimum to go out. Only scores of bonus sets, triplets and quadruplets are counted in. The non-winners pay the winner according to the winner's hu and double.

4 cards would be remained before a draw game. There is no pay for a draw game.
