    Hi Barb,

    So sad to hear that.
I considered George a good friend even though we'd never met in
person. We had a few things in common, our love of gardening and
preserving as well as both being old sailors from many years back, he
in the US Navy and me in the Royal Canadian Navy.
We shared some private emails along with preserving info and some
recipes. We still use the recipe he provided for pickled Jerusalem
artichokes. It's the recipe that eliminates all the extra "gas" that
those particular tubers seem to produce if consumed in any other form.
Our sincere condolences to all his friends and family, especially Miz
    Anne.
    R.I.P. George.

    Ross & Gerry
