gift of all.
That twit Sandra Lee is not even on TV any longer and hasn't been
for several years. It's time for you to grow up and quit digging
up ancient shit and trying to be funny. You're not, you're as bad
as Bruce Bowser was dragging up posts from 1991 and replying to them
When Google Groups was active.

and just plain idiots.

My Cross post filter usually catches them. It is no secret that cross posting is a desperate call for attention for people who are compelled
to force their idiocy on the rest of us. They usually stick to a
relatively small number of groups like alt.homerepair, groups with
"jew" or Limbaugh in the name and a few others. Set a filter to weed out those groups and you will catch most of them. They like to use the
shotgun approach by crossposting to at least a half dozen groups and the
end up with so many of the filtered groups you only need one or two of
them to give set the filter off. There is the occasional one that gets through but the twits are likely to change before their next bomb run,
so it's not worth updating.
They're all losers. Perhaps you can provide
me with a list of groups they cross-post to
since I don't have them all memorized.

Does novabbs -or what is it called- have a killfile feature?

Use 'slrn' and set it to kill ANY cross-posts.

Unlikely but use an OLR and you might or you can sort to sender then
delete those who are trolls.

You can do the same thing with Thunderbird.
I did not read in depth but novabbs uses some sort of Spamcop blocker.
It's not stopping anything so far.

I know Jill. The question was on novabbs. You don't use a newsreader
with it. You use an Off Line Reader (OLR).

I know what the question was about, Carol. I don't use web based anything
to access Usenet. That was the major problem with Google Groups. I don't see novabbs.com making things any better, just a different form of Google Groups.

It has a web interface, cshenk. People from RFC who now use novabbs,
use that web interface. There's nothing offline about it.

Bruce, apples and oranges there. You are talking how to access the
site (note: I said at the start may have web interface. I haven't
tried his site to see). That has absolutely NOTHING to do with message
base formats.
The technical specifications are completely different and it is doubful
he's operating at his own site as a fullfledged gateway. If he did,
you wouldnt see him using the gateway here.
