    Cool...

When I was a kid my two older brothers shot quail, pheasant, and squirrel... it was pan - fried...

Now most rural hunting in that area is deer...

    How was the elk...???

Where did you find lamb bacon?  Home made???  Looks like pork.  How does
    it taste?

I encountered "lamb bacon" in a butcher's in New Zealand
and bought some to try it. It looked great when raw.
    Taste... very disappointing and bland.

I'd add that it was cut like British back bacon, not
    streaky bacon.

Beef bacon is pretty easy to find around here. Lamb bacon
might require a short road trip to a place with a higher
concentration of halal markets. It's readily available online,
either back bacon or belly bacon.

OTOH, lamb is kind of ethnic here in the Midwest. I was
in my 20s before I ever tasted it.

I'll skip it.  Turkey bacon is good but gets soggy in a BLT.

Home made. I've made at least 20lbs of it over the years,
    but not lately.

It's just like pork bacon except shorter. And tastes like
    lamb.

I've never had ground turkey, but turkey bacon tasted like pork bacon.

Not the turkey bacon I tried but hey, it was decades ago. Maybe it's
    better these days.

I've had some good Turkey bacon's before. Mostly what I adored was a
Harris Teeter local brand of black cracked pepper turkey pastrami. I
lnow it sounds odd but it was very good.
