I have a thick-cut (1") boneless pork loin chop wrapped in bacon. What temp/time would you recommend in the air fryer? Any seasonings other
    than S&P? TIA

I've not done a wrapped in bacon. I'd go 400 deg for 18 minutes but
stick a thermometer in in at 15 minutes or so to be sure.

I'd add some granulated garlic under the bacon. Sounds good.

As far as I know all the makes seem to differ. At first it pays to
check it, maybe even use a thermometer to be sure, until you get used
to your machine. Start at 400 and lower after a few minutes then
    keep checking after ten.

Good Luck. I love mine so much that yesterday I re-arranged the
kitchen so it is out on the counter for whenever and a coffee pot and
couple of other things gone to the cupboard instead.

Thanks, Ed. I think I'd better remove the wooden toothpick that holds
the bacon to the chop. Maybe a sprinkle of garlic powder on the chop
    itself?

I don't do that sort of thing in the air fryer but hazarding a guess,
try 10mins at 350F then check, if it looks half done then flip and
    another 10 mins.

Yes, remove the toothpick and do add the garlic powder to the chop. Don't be afraid to check it and remove it if it seems it has cooked long enough.

The pork chops I do are bone-in but about 1½ to just under 2 inches thick. They're cooked at 425° at 15 minutes per side. But stick with your plan of 400° and 15 minutes; experiment later!

Thanks. I don't want to over-cook it, that's for sure.

Keep testing then and know it will be speedier than other methods. The
other tip someone gave me which I feel is valid is I turn it on and
give it a couple of minutes before I start to cook in it.

Gimmie a break. You just have to sear the heck out of chops on a 400 °F degree surface of a pan for awhile, then put it under the broiler in the oven. It'll taste better.

When I hit start, it will heat for a few minutes and then it will say
"Add Food" The advantage, the bottom grate is heated and will start
cooking the underside faster, just as you would pre-heat a fry pan.

On the re-heat cycle it does not pre-heat.

I've not done a wrapped in bacon.  I'd go 400 deg for 18 minutes but >>>>>>> stick a thermometer in in at 15 minutes or so to be sure.

I'd add some granulated garlic under the bacon.  Sounds good.

I'd also flip it at 8 minutes and check the internal temp at 12.
I've cooked thinner chops several times and they are usually done
    in 8-10 minutes.

Thank you, Graham.  Yes, I plan to turn it, just trying to figure out >>>>> the total cooking time.  I do have an instant-read thermometer.

When I hit start, it will heat for a few minutes and then it will say
"Add Food"  The advantage, the bottom grate is heated and will start
cooking the underside  faster, just as you would pre-heat a fry pan.

On the re-heat cycle it does not pre-heat.

Okay, mine is not at all fancy (which is probably why it was only $20
with free shipping.) It's analog. There is no preheat setting. The instruction book said put the food in, turn it on, dial the temperature
and the heat light will go on. (It will go off again when it hits the
set temp.) Then set the timer. It will beep when the time is done. Yep.

I wound up sprinkling the chop with garlic powder and a bit of smoked
paprika. It wound up cooking in the air fryer (turned once) for about
18 minutes. According to the temp probe when I took it out, right at
160°. The bacon is nicely crisped and the pork chop is still moist and
tender in the middle. I think we have a winner for my first try with
    this little air fryer.

I'm still not sure how often I'm going to use it.

Glad it came out nice. If you do it again, take it out a bit earlier. I
    shoot for 145.

You may end up using it more than you think. I was skeptical but now
that I have it, a couple of times a week it makes dinner.

I like chicken thighs. Three of them take about 18 minutes and I'll cut
a Yukon gold or sweet potato in 3/8" slices and toss them in also.
Reheats nicely with a crispy skin that the microwave can't do.

Feeling lazy? I always have these in the freezer and get them when
Publix has a BOGO. Toss one in with some cut up potato and you have
    dinner in 20 minutes.

Oh, you may want to get a sprayer for oil. That helps with the frying
    portion.

Your air fryer must be larger than mine. I could fit three chicken
thighs in it but there wouldn't be room for a sliced potato. Still, I
could cook the chicken and then do the potato slices while the chicken
    "rests". ;)

YAY!! Who knows? Maybe chicken wings, thighs or drumsticks might be
    on the menu soon!

I have some chicken "drummies" in the freezer. If I'd known I was going
to buy this small air fryer I'd have divided the package into smaller
    portions before I froze them!

Mine is similar to this one except it's a 3.5 qt. (2.5 qt. cooking surface):

Geezlepeets, the one in that link is only $10! but I doubt I'd have

Thanks, Ed. I think I'd better remove the wooden toothpick that
holds >> the bacon to the chop. Maybe a sprinkle of garlic powder
    on the chop >> itself?

    Jill

Yes, remove the toothpick and do add the garlic powder to the
chop. Don't be afraid to check it and remove it if it seems it
    has cooked long enough.

The pork chops I do are bone-in but about 1½ to just under 2
inches thick. They're cooked at 425° at 15 minutes per side. But
stick with your plan of 400° and 15 minutes; experiment later!
Thanks. I don't want to over-cook it, that's for sure.

Gimmie a break. You just have to sear the heck out of chops on a 400
°F degree surface of a pan for awhile, then put it under the broiler
in the oven. It'll taste better.

BB, you appear in the 'over cook pork chops until they are basically
the texture of jerky' crowd? You stand alone on that one if so. I
don't want pork based shoe leather wrapped in bacon and I doubt Jill
    does either.

So far, Graham and I said same thing but he used a higher temp and less

you just need to fiddle with it until you find the best route to
what you like, I find it's a better job, tastier and far quicker.

When I hit start, it will heat for a few minutes and then it will
say "Add Food"  The advantage, the bottom grate is heated and will
start cooking the underside  faster, just as you would pre-heat a
    fry pan.

On the re-heat cycle it does not pre-heat.

Okay, mine is not at all fancy (which is probably why it was only $20
with free shipping.) It's analog. There is no preheat setting. The instruction book said put the food in, turn it on, dial the
temperature and the heat light will go on. (It will go off again
when it hits the set temp.) Then set the timer. It will beep when
    the time is done. Yep.

I wound up sprinkling the chop with garlic powder and a bit of smoked paprika. It wound up cooking in the air fryer (turned once) for
about 18 minutes. According to the temp probe when I took it out,
right at 160°. The bacon is nicely crisped and the pork chop is
still moist and tender in the middle. I think we have a winner for
my first try with this little air fryer.

I'm still not sure how often I'm going to use it.

Happy for you Jill! It took me a bit too, to figure out how it fit in
    our lifestyle.

Oh, you may want to get a sprayer for oil. That helps with the
    frying portion.

I like that but so far haven't needed it.
