They're usually $3 and wimpy.

Stems: 1-2" sticks, salt and crushed red pepper, foil, roast 45
minutes
Leaves: roughly chopped, sauteed with bacon and garlic, 8 minutes.
And a leftover re-heated, smoke-grilled chicken leg.

Good point. Shaving 1,200 times a year for the last 10 years
probably takes its toll on the 'ol g'nads. They were tender,
though.
I also saw pearly White asparagus for $5/bunch. I hear they're
REALLY tough though.

That particular shipment or white asparagus in general? I have been in
Europe several times during asparagus season. It was always white and it
was very good.
