    Saw a large bunch of beets with 16" tops $.97/bunch. So I'm in!
    They're usually $3 and wimpy.

    Roasted roots: halved, S&P, Foil, roast 55 minutes.

    Stems: 1-2" sticks, salt and crushed red pepper, foil, roast 45
    minutes

    Leaves: roughly chopped, sauteed with bacon and garlic, 8 minutes.

    And a leftover re-heated, smoke-grilled chicken leg.

    Breakfast tacos with egg, seasoned ground up Old Folks, and crispy
    O'Brien Potatoes with Melinda's green sauce on Mixta(tm)

    new one for me. Kinda scary at first, but ... <shrug?> I'll go

    Good point. Shaving 1,200 times a year for the last 10 years
    probably takes its toll on the 'ol g'nads. They were tender,
    though.

    I also saw pearly White asparagus for $5/bunch. I hear they're
    REALLY tough though.
