It is not available in our local library but there is a regional

The great thing about American streaming service Tubitv.com is that
they have lots of terribly bad Australian movies.

    https://tubitv.com/movies/473499/dad https://tubitv.com/movies/100011748/let-s-go-below-the-rainbow

    I like bad Australian movies.

    There's also justwatch.com.

We've never had good mobile range in the Australian countryside, but I understand that, with the appropriate app for these streaming
services, you can stream the movies via your smartphone to your TV.
When it suits you, not when it suits a station that broadcasts it.

The ejection belt on mine has broken, but there's a little lever on the underside
that opens the tray to be able to add or remove a DVD.

He's referring to the DVD itself, not the player.

It's not difficult to scratch a DVD so that it is unplayable. I don't
know how many we got from Blockbuster and then Netflix that appeared to

it isn't just scratching that damages them, some will
degrade in other ways which makes them useless.

the scratches on the clear plastic layer can be ground
and polished out to refurbish the dvd, but damage to the
other side (which many people don't think about when
handling) can make the reflective layer underneath too
    corrupted to work.

at the library we had a machine to do the grinding and
polishing but there was no repair other than replacement
for those damaged on the other side.

if you want a really archive quality dvd you have to
get those which are manufactured for longer term
survival and also be careful to not flex the disc too
much which may cause layers to delaminate.

there are such dvds available, but they're not usually
    used for mass produced items.

How often do you rewatch a movie 80 years later?

How many of us are 100 to do that?

I don't rewatch movies much. It's like with books. I read it and
    that's it. I don't need a paper copy. That's just more clutter.

I do if it's a particularly a good one. It might be a year or more
before I view it again, though.

It will probably still be available at a streaming service, and
probable at more and more of them. No hunting required.

Availbe doesn't mean free. Growing are 'limited time' where you can go
back and stream it for a year then you have to repurchase.

Several big ones are free, with ads. Thanks to my ad blocker I don't
see them. But even when I occasionally do see them, it's absolutely
    worth it to me.

More than a couple. Trust me.

Come on, even McBiddy isn't that old.
