    That's livable for January.

Third week of January is always cold.  I don't know why people
have their panties in such a bunch.  For the clicks, I suppose.

It may be a little optimistic, but the forecast for the 23rd is

weather followed by more average conditions.

Most of the dogs I have had like winter weather. My current dog, a mini

rolling in the snow. The Bouvier des Flandres that we had was very quiet

Labs used to slide down snow covered hills on his belly and would run
along an ice covered stream and then slide into the water, swim around,

Short haired dogs seem to have a little trouble with the cold, but long

They have a longish haired sheep dog type, it's not the snow, it's the

I don't blame you. I have been in -40 and it's really unpleasant. There
is nothing good to be said about it.

An emergency call went out late yesterday afternoon to reduce power
consumption as Alberta was close to imposing brown-outs. It came on my
cell phone with that screaming/squarking sound.
Almost immediately, power consumption dropped 100MW and within minutes
    another 100MW.

It's a horrible noise, but it gets your attention :) The RCMP in NS
will still not say why they chose to notify twitter about the
Portapique shooter in the middle of the night and would have saved the
lives of about six people out for early morning walks, one pregnant
who would have stayed home with an alert.

Calling the RCMP "police" is a misnomer. They are clearly a military organisation.

That's the sort of thing that ticks me off about the system. They will
wake up 10 million people in the middle of the night because someone 300
miles away didn't get their kid back to the ex wife on time but they
won't use it to warn people about a serial killer on the loose locally.
In other countries those alerts can be disabled. I learned to turn my

They are a sad joke these days. I don't know how they ever got that
famous for always getting their man. They didn't do anything about that
guy in Portapique despite many complaints about him and being told he

farm, the were convinced he was unarmed because their idiotic long gun
registry said he was under a firearms prohibition. He was a violent
criminal so we all know he will abide by that.

They latest clusterf&$k was to arrest a Rebel news reported who was
trying to get our deputy prime minister to answer a simple question. He
is walking along trying to get her to at least acknowledge his question,

Why do you feel it is up to you to tell everyone else what
    they shall
    do????

I'm not the one who is calling Joan "Ellie May" (a misspelled
character name from the TV show 'The Beverly Hillbillies) or
telling her she's wrong to drape her outdoor plants with sheets
to protect them from freezing weather.  I know a nymshifting
troll when I see one.  Do feel free to encourage it if that's
    your cup of tea.

Damn. Your highness has certainly slung your ass over your
    shoulder.
