• OK, What do I do next?

From Alan Holbrook@21:1/5 to All on Sat Jan 1 04:19:46 2022
A few months ago, I acquired a Delta LA200 midi lathe and after taking a
one day course and watching a lot of you tube (and spending nearly the cost
of the lathe on a chuck, a press, drill bits, etc.) started turning pens.
And surprisingly, I got reasonably good at it. Now, pride may go before a fall, but I want to try to expand my turning skills and move on to some
other projects. What would you experienced turners suggest for expanding
    my horizons?

    Thanks...

If you have the rest of a wood shop, how about segmented turnings?
Those can be as simple or complex as desired.

(and yes, you can make segmented pens)

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I have a pretty well outfitted shop and segmented turning looks fascinating.

You could try wine bottle stoppers and spinning tops to hone your fine arts skills.

Fine art skills? You mean you need fine art skills to turn? Maybe I'll
    take up bridge :-)

Thanks, Dave, I'll add those to the list.
