• Sealer over wax

From graham@21:1/5 to All on Sat Nov 17 16:05:29 2018
Ray Key in his videos promotes the practice of using paste wax as a
lubricant during sanding to reduce scratches.
He then follows this with a lacquer sealer that he cuts back with 0000
wire wool dipped in wax followed by a coat of wax polish to get a
    semi-gloss finish.
Putting lacquer over a waxed surface doesn't make sense to me but I
wonder if anyone here has tried it.

Not having access to the video, are you sure he does not wipe the surface before putting the lacquer on?

The videos are on Youtube. Here is the appropriate one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTZemwWM2mE

The wax + sanding starts at about 8:50.
