    Hello Group,
I know others have gotten the Nova OT attachment and are going to
    comment on
it. I wanted to add my 2 cents worth. I have got one and have been
    playing with
it. Let me start by saying I have a Paul Cler Ornamental Lathe and have
    been doing
OT work for about 1.5 years and am the current Vice-President of the Ornamental
Turners International (OTI), so you just KNOW I was going to be picky
    about
the Nova. Well, I'm quite impressed. Being already familiar with OT
    technique
it didn't take me any time to set it up and do a couple of test pieces.
    The first was
a box with a basketweave pattern. The initial setup and test cuts went
    just like I
expected and once the stops were set, I was able to zip through all the
    cuts and
indexes and produce a finished product. There was a slight wander on one
    or two
cuts, but you'd be hard pressed to find them unless you knew what you
    were looking
for. The second test piece was a turned platter on which I added the
    barley corn
pattern around the perimeter of the plate. This went fairly good. The
    wood I chose
was too soft, so there was a little tear-out. That was my fault not the tool's. I have
already gotten a few more ideas to try. In short, the tool is an
    EXCELLET investment
for someone with a Nova lathe who is also interested in Ornamental
    turnery. When
they get it rigged for other lathes it will be fantastic. It is however,
    not without it's flaws.
There is a very little slop in the machining. It is noticable to me
    only because I
am using a very precision OT lathe to compare against it. If you are not careful
it will show up. But, at 1/10th the price of my lathe and 1/50th of a
    real Holtzaphel
lathe, it is a FANTASTIC acheivement. I will be including the Nova OT
in my demo at Tacoma on Ornamental Turnery, as well as writing about it.

I'm really excited that this is or will soon be on the market. It is my sincere hope
that it will breathe new life into Ornamental turning as well as bring
    joy to other
potential Ornamental turners. I will post some pictures when I can.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in the Nova OT or
    need a few
ideas on what to do with it.

    Happy Turning!
