    Sounds like a cent missing the copper coating. Not sure about the "gift box" above the date?

    i have a copper clad penny sadly bad shape but is a 1987 with d mint above the date ,can anyone give me more information regarding this coin?

    I also have one. It is attached to a business card sized card stock with a birthday poem. The bottom states: Product of Thomas SOS Enterprises. Cannot find anything online to refer to regarding this penny.

    For it to be silver it would have to be a cent struck on a dime planchet meant for a 90% silver proof set. It could could be a clad dime planchet, but would be flatter and thinner cuz the dime is smaller, it also would likely be off center. Most likely
    the copper plating was removed or not applied well. Not to be a nit picker but the mint has never struck pennies.

    I have 1 right hear but I havent been able to find anything about it on line so I think it must be a rare coin. the 1 I have is a strong DD on both sides all lines are doubled & there is no copper plating
