Fat Harry is so humiliated by the performance of Nancy and her
gang of thieves and thugs. I'd be surprised if he ever shows his
fat ugly face in rec.boats again. Whoever is pulling slow Joey's
strings sure has made a mess of everything Joey touches. Anyone
who votes democratic in the mid term and in 2024 has to be as

His failures are from poor planning. I said Afghanistan would do exactly
what they have done. Start killing each other with gusto. His failure is
lack of planning to get the allies out safely and either remove the

I'd argue that it's more of a military failure than a Biden failure, also an intelligence failure. The August 31 deadline was put in place early July after extending Trump's original deadline of May 1st. No one should have been surprised. Plans should
have been in place a month ago. Those responsible should be held accountable.

Wayne, I would agree with you except for the numerous reports by both
right and left media sources that senior military officials advised
Biden *not* to do what has been done. Most reports say this was
    unanimous.

Second to the loss of life, the issue of preventing the Taliban capture
of military equipment, including 280 Blackhawks, and the unbelievable
amount of weapons is beyond comprehension. That gear should have been
removed or secured first, as soon as it became obvious that the
Afghan army basically didn't exist. To establish and publicly
announce a withdrawal date (Aug 31) before this was accomplished
    is criminal in my mind.

I guess we'll never know the whole, truthful story, but the past
    2 weeks have been frustrating.

Biden certainly doesn't present himself as a "leader" either.
It's painful to watch him talk and really raises questions as
to *who* is calling the shots. Biden doesn't even try to hide
the fact that his advisors are giving him notes on who to call
    upon during press conferences.

I think I've learned though and my opinion has changed.
I was all for withdrawing all troops before but I now
think it would have been wiser to keep a small contingent
and tried to hold on to the American embassy as other
nations have held on to theirs. But, it's no longer in
    the cards.

The last American to board the last plane would probably
be correct if he or she turned to whatever crowd is at
the airport and, in the best Arnold Schwarzenegger
    imitation said, "I'll be back".

I am not sure why we didn't fly those blackhawks out when we had the
chance and blow up everything else of value. It was ludicrous to
believe the Afghan Security Force would hold without US air cover and
    logistic support.
I guess the best we can hope for now is they can't maintain them and
    most crash.
I do think we should be done there. If we can do something
diplomatically or bribe them with some foreign aid it might be
worthwhile keeping that presence there but the idea we were going to
defeat them militarily is the acme of foolishness. The Russians
couldn't do it and they were willing to go much farther than we were
    to suppress the insurgents.

    The list is astounding...

That's worse than the moron leaving billions on the tarmac of an

I'd argue that it's more of a military failure than a Biden failure, also an intelligence failure. The August 31 deadline was put in place early July after extending Trump's original deadline of May 1st. No one should have been surprised. Plans
should have been in place a month ago.

I am not sure why we didn't fly those blackhawks out when we had the
chance and blow up everything else of value. It was ludicrous to
believe the Afghan Security Force would hold without US air cover and logistic support.

The purpose of staying there isn't to win anything militarily.
It's to have eyes and ears on the ground to detect any
terrorist activities that may threaten us or our allies.

I hadn't heard that the Taliban had "invited" us to keep our
embassy. Makes no sense that they would, given past history.

The best we can hope for at this point is a robust covert presence but
that will be a pretty dangerous job. The person would be tortured and
killed if they were even suspected off being a US operative.
