I ordered a couple of thistle socks. I'm hoping to see some
goldfinches. I know they are around but they like very specific >thistle/niger seed. We'll see what happens when I hang those. :)

Haven't had any thistle seed out for a very long time... Goldfinch
around here are more than happy to chow down on Blackoil Sunflower
seed. I usually have to shoo them away from the feeder off/on to give
the Chickadees a chance to swoop in and grab a seed or two😉
personally i'd never put out thistle seeds unless they're
roasted or killed somehow. thistles are such a tough pest/weed
in the yard and gardens. we have fields around us with thistles
in them that the farmers do not manage and so it is constantly
being brought into our yard/gardens. :(

"Supposedly" the stuff being sold to us for bird feed has been treated
so it won't grow...
