• First Hummingbird sighted

From Terry Coombs@21:1/5 to All on Sat Mar 28 08:52:24 2020
It's a bit early , about 3 weeks ahead of last year , but there's at
least one here now . I was out in front of the shop a few minutes ago
when he flew up to check me out . I immediately came in the house and
filled up the feeder . I hope we have more hummers this year than we had
    last ...

I'm glad to hear it, Terry! I hope to see some hummers soon. They
usually show up pretty early in southern South Carolina but none so far
this year. The feeder is out and ready!

The two previous winters there was one stubborn female ruby throat that
didn't migrate with the rest of them. I had to keep the feeder up and
filled just for her. It was fun to see her in December, January,
February... This past winter it never really got past chilly but no sign
of her after October. I hope she didn't die.

    Jill
