• A Mourning Dove at the Bird Bath (pic)

    I love Mourning Doves. I love the soft sounds they make. They usually
    peck around on the ground (in two pairs) on the grass behind where the
    seed has fallen from the feeder. They don't usually come up on the
    patio. I definitely don't usually see one perched on the bird bath. :)

    yes, they are rare to see in the smaller bird bath here, but
    we have a larger one that they will use more.

    this time of the year not too many are around. we have a pair
    at least. last fall we had flocks of nearly 80 of them for a
    few weeks. i don't know where they all went.

    i like them as birds, but they can scare the crap out of ya
    when they take off if you don't know they're there.
