Norfolk Southern Railway is removing railroad tracks and ties along
the site of the future Wasson Way bike trail so that the city of
Cincinnati can begin construction this summer.
The railroad’s crews will work on a 4.1-mile stretch between
Montgomery Road and Wooster Pike, according to the city.
Rails are being removed to create the Wasson Way bike trail.

While the removal is occurring, Madison, Edwards and Montgomery roads
will have one open traffic lane with the Madison and Edwards work
taking place overnight to minimize traffic impacts.
The city will mark detours while work occurs on Michigan, Shaw, Hyde
Park and Monteith avenues. The railroad’s goal is to finish one mile
each week over the next four to six weeks.
Construction on the first phase of the trail is expected to start in
August.
