Today I needed to replace a cassette for a fellow. Sure enough he bought the new cassette and I got installed. He left the bike off and was in a hurry so he had already left. I did the usual test in the stand and had to adjust the limits as the cassette
went to 32 tooth from a prior 28 tooth. The margins for error going into the spokes are slim.
Then there is the usual test ride. For me this seems to be the hardest part. I had to raise the seat considerably was the bike was too small. Then it had regular pedals no clips. I don't about anyone else, but I cannot any more ride without being clipped
in I am too used to the feeling. I really find it hard to ride a bike with regular pedals. Naturally I am not positioned right but one would think it would not be so challenging. Finally, I ride in the drops probably 50% of the time and then use the
hoods or at the bends. I never ever ride on the tops. This was your basic flat bar city cruiser.
Could it be I am not really a cyclist anymore? Rant over.
