• Beaujon Ultralights

My apologies if someone has already covered this. I've been interested in Herbert Beaujon's ultralight designs. Has anyone ever built these, or know of anyone who has, and has flown them?

He offers plans on his website, but it doesn't seem like it's been updated since 2000, and there's no contact on there besides his mailing address (to send a check or money order for the plans).

    Thanks!

My friend Greg in Arizona built a Beujon design with some modifications... and named it after me:

Herbert Beaujon, passed on May 31, 2022, he was 92. His plans are still available at http://www.beaujonaircraft.com/ I believe that his son is running the site.
I built an Enduro -- pretty much to plans except I powered it with a slightly derated Vitorazzi 185 which meant moving the engine support a smidge aft. L/D of 8, 381 lb gross weight at takeoff, I burn 4.4 gallons of 40:1 in total to warm up, takeoff,
climb to about 1000 ft AGL, travel 220 statute miles at 55 mph and land. The big windscreen results in less turbulence and felt airflow than I feel in a Weedhopper or Gypsy which don't have nearly the airspeed. I also know of a Hardnose / Minimac hybrid
and a Mach .07 flying around here (Wisconsin).
