• Top cargo box for trailer.

From Larry Ruggiero@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jun 27 08:18:51 2023
I’m thinking of getting a modest top cargo box to mount forward on my Avionic trailer top for tow out gear etc. I assume I’d have to upgrade to stronger strut gas shocks to accommodate the weight gain. Anyone done this?

If the box is mounted near the front hinge line you might not need much,
if any, further effort to raise the lid (think levers). I would try it
before buying stronger gas struts. And don't forget to seal the bolt
    holes really well against rain.

I saw a trailer just yesterday with a rather long metal box attached to
the side of the trailer just in front of the fender. Much cleaner
installation as well as easier access and lower drag.

But... Can't you carry your tow out gear in your tow out vehicle?

I mounted a toolbox on the side of my Schreder, ahead of the fender. Much better than securing/hauling everything in the trailer & vehicle. Of course I pinched it against a post on the subsequent landout - just barely😋
