• BEV chain reaction fire

From 2G@21:1/5 to All on Thu Apr 27 08:10:38 2023
This fire occurred in a police parking lot in Dearborn, MI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUEA9hEIRiA
The problem was traced to a manufacturing problem of the battery cells.

Welcome to the brave, new world of electrification.

It was actually in a holding lot at a Ford factory. CNBC used a FOIA
    request to get the video:

    https://www.cnbc.com/video/2023/04/20/newly-video-shows-fire-involving-ford-f-150-lightning-electric-pickup.html

In particular, it was traced to anodes and cathodes shorting together
due to cells swelling slightly during charging.

Lithium batteries have been in use for about 30 years now, you'd think
they'd learn not to short those anodes and cathodes. Never ends well.

So sorry for the loss of your motorglider.

People need to be careful about how they store their motorglider batteries - they pack a lot of energy. This isn't the first instance of a problem.

I guess some don't know that the Ford F150 motorglider is prone to self immolation.

I'm guessing, since it's battery powered, "Ford" stands for, "Fire on rainy days"?

The Ford electric motorglider is cleverly engineered with built-in dual functionality, It has the ability to harness lift in thermals, or if parked on the ramp, can function as a handy thermal generator for other gliders (just once).

Another great benefit of the motorglider, used as a cigar lighter, then you can drive home in your Tesla. OBTP

As the saying goes, "Build a man a fire, you will keep him warm for one night. Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life."

Hey! my current ford has been running without burning up for the past
12 years. Oh, wait... It burns fossil fuels directly rather than that
which was burned to charge batteries.
