Brings the wings to Florida, I will recover them. As far as the horizontal, why do the AD if not necessary, you can get an AMOC, I have done both, if you choose to do the AD do NOT use the jig that they send you, there is a better way. OBTP

Charlie, there is the process of getting an AMOC, alternate method of compliance, for the horizontal AD. The AMOC is acquired by a process through your local FISDO. The process is rather easy and the AD is not always needed per mine and others
inspections of the questionable structure. I have looked at probably 50 Pawnee's and have yet to see where the AD was needed. IMHO the chemical that was sprayed was the culprit and caused that area to begin rusting at the welds, that chemical was sulfur,
used as a fungicide in aerial applications.
I have texted you a copy of my letter to the FAA which outlines the AMOC inspection process. If you decide to do the AD then you should be very aware that the jig that is available for completing this is difficult to get proper alignment, there is a much
better way to complete the AD. After initial inspection and you find areas of weld fault I would go ahead and do the AD, if after inspection you find no weakness or weld to tube degradation then I would proceed with the AMOC and follow the inspection
