• It Has Been Boring Lately!

I have never seen this forum so boring as it has been in the last 30 days. What could be the probable cause, elections . weather, Ukraine war, Tom Brady Giselle divorce, or Stacy Abrams with her food channel.
Just yesterday I called a nice guy and we were having a great technical conversation and at the end I told him that I would like to send my wife out West to fly in California. We have been there before and had a great time and she flew and certainly
enjoyed herself. The operator informed me that to send the wife on out and she could fly out there in the 32, and then he said , "That Is A Motorglider" my reply was, "Don't Take Pictures" .
Thanks Amigo she will be planning that trip very soon! Old Bob, The Purist

Nothing to do with your post but… I saw that artwork on FB. Who did that? My wife really liked it.

Ps: I like gliders and motorgliders (vintage motorgliders)

Thanks for the compliment on the artwork, The artist is my friend Bob Virelli, who is a member of our glider club here in Vero Beach. A while back he did the cover for Soaring Magazine that showed the Pawnee, "Yellow Gorilla" in the hangar as two of us
were pre flighting the craft. Bob has done hundreds of aviation paintings and hopefully you will see more of his work very soon.
This year at the Seniors contest at SLGP my wife and I will be donating an original painting to the winner of the contest. I think that that lucky individual will be very proud to have that picture. I have already commissioned Bob to do the painting and
I have asked him to paint the contest number on the tail of the sailplane in the painting. Does anyone have any idea what that contest number is? Old Bob, The Purist

R, we don't look back, we look forward 2022 will be long gone in March, I would like to think that I could tell Bob to paint R on the tail, yet some other motorglider guy has a better chance of winning. OBTP

Well Round Eye, if you read your blurb seeking info….to write both in the past and future tense.
I figured 50/50…. you were seeking a contest number, you gave a painting…this year (2022 is this year) at the Seniors?
I thought Niko would be given a Arcus painting for his win.

Kemosabe, relax the new year will soon be among us and we can celebrate it when the time comes. I am busy packing up gliders tomorrow and if you need a place to park that motorglider we have a place outside for a few days of free tie down, looks like we
are in for another round of winds. I am making sure that my PURE ASW27B will be well secured for this latest storm, I would certainly hate to disappoint all you motorglider big dogs this coming spring.
In regard to last years OBTP trophy, Phil Gaisford was the winning PURIST and was awarded that fine bottle of Matusalem rum and will be given the oak trophy at this coming years event.
Now about that contest number, ZO thinks that he will be the winner, the ladies from Texas think that they have a chance, but I am betting on someone else. This year the new contest director will throw a few triangles into the mix unlike past years when
all you guys did was go up and down Hwy 27 and crank your motors to get out of harms way. Make sure that they declare that triangle day as OBTP day, anyway thanks for the interest in the painting, I have assured ZO that the painting will not depict the
motorglider headed toward the finish line with the engine out and running. Old Bob, The Purist
