• Looking for a tow plane

From Roy B.@21:1/5 to All on Thu Aug 18 12:08:07 2022
Looking for a mid time plane currently towing or which can be fitted with a tow kit. Will consider anything 180 hp or better with a metal spar and a fair value. Conventional or taildragger OK. I'd consider something close to TBO if it's been running
well and recently. I'm in Phoenix. Note: Looking for an aircraft - not for opinions. NMFR (not my first rodeo).
Call or text at five-oh-ate 769-3297 or email royb-at-bourgeoiswhite - dot - com.
    Thanks
    ROY

Seattle Glider Council has parked a 1959 Cessna 182 with a runout engine in Ephrata. It has a TOST hitch on it. They are wringing their hands trying to figure out what to do with it. You might want to approach them.

I have the hook and paperwork trail to put on a Cherokee 180 or 235/236. Hollister has been using the latter for years...

The former owner of Hollister told me that the Cherokees made good tow planes apart from the undercarriages not being engineered for the number of cycles a tow plane does, so much more frequent maintenance and servicing of the struts than the type of
flying they are designed for. He said that was expensive in the scheme of things.

    YMMV
