Does anyone have any experience with these gliders? I've seen some YouTube reviews on them. For a self-launching glider with a 40:1 ratio, it doesn't seem that bad with the 15m wings.

How would this be for achieving badges? Competitions?

Are there any specific things with this to be on the lookout for?

I flew a pure Apis with short wings (13? 13.5?) at Sports Class Nationals in 2014. you're not going to get 40:1 out of that one but probably mid 30's. Definitely good enough for badge work and regional or national sports class competition. It probably is
really close to a Libelle in all around performance. I don't remember too many quirks. Rigging was a two pin system same as the Silent 2. I don't remember if the controls had auto hookups. It was a pretty easy to fly glider.

With the motor up on the mast, this is a first generation motorglider.
Expect more noise and vibration-related engine maintenance problems for
this, compared to more modern designs.

Hi there, I'm finally getting back to this thread a few months later. What's the best way to contact you?
