• Oudie IGC .cit files not loading

From Mike Harbold@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jun 13 11:24:57 2022
On boot when loading terrain the Oudie gives me an error message:
    "mSeeYou [\ResidentFlash\europe_africa.cit] (45301)"
Then after boot is complete when the map screen is displayed I get this error: "Error loading file [\ResidentFlash\americas.cit] (45301)

I have done everything I can think of:
    1.Navitier Updater
2.Replace files from know working Oudies
    3.Complete reset

    The problem persists.
Any help would be greatly appreciated these files seem to be the terrain files for the Oudie. The reason say this is that the AGL feature is not working.

    Hi Mike,

The Oudie should find the correct map file after it gets a lock on GPS satellites.

If not, you can use NotePad on a PC to edit the profile that is saved in the Settings folder in the Oudie. Look for a line in the profile that contains "FILETERRAIN" or something like that. Make sure it points to the desired map file.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the reply.
That was one of the many things I had tried.

    TFAT:/Settings/Default.xml
    Changed from: <FILETERRAIN>\ResidentFlash\americas.cit</FILETERRAIN>
    Changed to: <FILETERRAIN>\ResidentFlash\NorthWestAmerica.cit</FILETERRAIN>

NorthWestAmerica.cit seems to be where I am now (Hobbs, NM) that file is in the maps folder.

    Any other suggestions?

    -Mike

    Hi Mike,

If the NorthWestAmerica.cit file is saved in the maps folder, then you need to edit the FILETERRAIN line in the settings file to point into that folder.
    <FILETERRAIN>\ResidentFlash\maps\NorthWestAmerica.cit</FILETERRAIN>

Make sure you're editing the settings file you're using in flight.

If you need to re-download the maps files, you can get them here: https://kb.naviter.com/en/kb/problem-ive-accidentally-deleted-maps-can-i-get-them-back/

    HI Paul,

    Thanks for your continued efforts.
I've tried that as well. No change.
In addition I have downloaded and am running the SeeYou simulator on my PC. I get the same errors there. See screen shots on shared album.

What I really would like to know is if the settings/ Default.xml is really read at boot on the Oudie. Any changes I make to that xml file don't seem to reflect at boot.

I'm back home now from Hobbs so I'll have more time to play with it.

    Hi Mike,

Call me sometime when the Oudie is connected to your PC. Also, email the files from the Settings folder.

I still believe that your profile is not pointing to an existing map file.

Also, it only works when you have a lock on GPS satellites.
