• LS8/18 for sale 280 hours TT

From Gregg Leslie@21:1/5 to All on Mon May 23 11:44:49 2022
N248V (Q3) John has asked me to clean up his glider (hard waxed) and have almost completed this task. He also asked me to post on here and that it will be available for sale shortly, my next task is to clean up the inside of the Metal cobra trailer.

This is an 15/18 LS8 with 280 hours on it, after seeing every inch of the glider I would rate at an 8.9 out of 10. It has a perfect blue tinted canopy. If anyone is interested email me me at aswgl@hotmail.com and I will send some pics. Its a very nice
glider for a 1999., and it really does only have 280 hours on it.

Can anyone tell me Gregg's email? The link he posted does not work for me.

Either you left out a Whiskey, or the email published on the SSA member
    locator is wrong.

Good Lord, why don't people just use a Usenet reader to read Usenet
groups? It works just so much better.

What's Usenet? It's what you're reading right now. Contrary to
neverending misinformation that never dies, RAS is NOT a Google group,
it's on Usenet. Most people just use a Google interface to read it, but
it's not a very good way of doing it.

I use Thunderbird to read RAS, along with most of my regular email. A
real Usenet reader shows the poster's email address in the clear, none
of these crazy gymnastics to try to slip an email address past Google's obfuscation is needed. If you want to reply to someone privately, it
just works, so the continuous stream of private messages posted to a
    public group is not needed.

One of the best feature of good Usenet readers is good spam filters,
just put Lennie the Lurker, Daryl Kabatoff, the Solutions Manuals guys,
and Youngblood in your spam filter, and they magically disappear. You
can also kill off threads individually, if you're just not interested in
    the topic.

There's actually many readers available, tin, mutt, pan, SeaMonkey and a
host of others, most of them old and poorly supported. Thunderbird is
free, open source, compiled for all the popular platforms, and well
supported. You do need a usenet server to connect to, eternal-september
is a popular one, there's a couple others.

With all due respect, I know it's frustrating, but anyone who doesn't know what Usenet (still) is or that Google Groups is not the same, or what the terms usenet server, usenet reader, compile, open source, etc., mean is not going to be encouraged to
change even if they're not doing it the way "real" RAS users do it. :) Google tends to dumb things down trying to coerce the rest of the world into doing things their way but it's still a relatively easy interface for a lot of non-technical users to read
RAS. That they mask email addresses is annoying, but they've apparently chosen to do that even though, as you point out, those addresses are readily accessible (to "real" spammers) anyway.
