    IMHO, Very few stories could top this one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_W._Carr

    A huge number of USA pilots are at the bottom
    with 6 and 5 kills.

    Billy Fiske was one of the first American Battle of Britain aces but wasn't flying
    for the USAF, rather an arm of the RAF.
    He is buried a few miles from where I live. He's one of my heroes.

    (for example, guys who shot down one German).

    Specifically I'm trying to track down the record of USAF pilot
    Charles V. ("Chuck") Ferree.
