What happened to the Iranian fighter project Qaher-313?
You mean this thingie?
F-313
Iranians made four crucial mistakes in the design. First of all, those
wings won’t allow the airplane to fly. Sorry folks, I know they look
cool being thick and swept down, but wings on an aircraft provide lift,
not cool points.
The second mistake were the air intakes. I know they look nice and
astethic, but they need to soak up enough air to power the engine. They
look a lot nicer than the ugly blowhole of the F-16 sure, but you won’t
power a decent turbine that way.
The third mistake was the oddly shaped fuselage, you can see it on the
image above. This will provide hopeless amount of drag and permanently
force the nose up. Even if you fixed the wings and the air intakes to
something that would work, the airplane would be horrible to fly.
The fourth mistake was to cut the expenses and take a cockpit from a Cessna-152.

I know it’s inexpensive and off the shelf technology is alway
prefferable, but a stealth fighter needs a bit more tools than a leisure turboprop does.
Those four mistakes essentially doomed the project, that absolutely
wasn’t a pathetic propaganda photo op.
