Excited to read anything about a 707

I am currently flying one and she is 707-320C

Seen some people suggest this -- Wait for LOC to come alive and select NAV LOC, when she stabilizes and GS comes alive put her to GS Auto.

what my instructor advised in the SIM at Miami, when you are on intercept heading and stabilized select GS Auto.

Any knowledge imparted by the first generation experienced "Seats off the Pants Fliers about this beautiful bird will be highly appreciated.
