• 2020 Pocono Schedule

From Rick @21:1/5 to All on Sun Jul 28 13:18:53 2019
Just saw this in the paper today. Thye double header schedule for next
    year.

    Thursday:
    ARCA Qualifying
    200 mile ARCA race

    Friday:
    Cup practice and qualifying
    Truck practice and qualifying

    Saturday:
    Xfinity practice
    200 mile truck race
Cup race #1 (most likely 350 miles)

    Sunday:
    Xfinity qualifying
    225 mile Xfinity race
Cup race #2 (most likely 350 miles)

What do you think? If a single 500 mile race was too long, do you really
want to sit through qualifying AND 575 miles of racing? There's sure to be some down time between events, so it's not like they just lengthened one
race. It's gonna be LONG day.

It says the same car will run both races. What if you crash out of race
1? Do you miss race 2?

I read your post and question.
    I am not sure.
Here are some things to read:

    https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2019/07/27/race-lengths-additional-details-announced-for-2020-pocono-doubleheader/

"“After (Race 1), we will give the competitors back their cars, and they
can do all their maintenance,” said Scott Miller, NASCAR senior vice president of competition. “They can’t really run the 700 miles without having their cars back for general service and all that.

“So we’ll give them their cars back. They will likely change valve
springs and work on any slight damage from the race and all the
maintenance to prepare for 350-mile Race 2.”

    https://us.motorsport.com/nascar-cup/news/pocono-350-mile-doubleheader/4502306/

“We still have some work to do on the rules of the competition.”
