Only 37 cars qualified at Atlanta. Not been that long ago when the full field
was 43 and 3 or 4 cars would not quality and have to go home.

So do we need 5 more Morgan Shepherds, or Derrick Copes?

Better than more Jimmie Johnsons or Jeff Gordons

Certainly not. As far as field sizes go, this is a lot like the
    80's, even into the early 90's, where you'd get 38, 39, 40 cars
for many races (except the short tracks, where you'd get 30 or 32).

What would help today's fields, rather than more cars, would be
if the half the field that isn't Gibbs, Penske, SHR, or Hendrick
    was a bit more competitive.

How does adding field fillers, that don't even have a crew or tires,
    enhance the racing experience?
The comment was not about personalities, it was about
quality cars vs. fillers, just to satisfy a number.

You know what I meant by "more Jimmie Johnsons.." , Pete!

Are you still pretending that you don’t watch races any more, but you still come to this newsgroup to whine about them? Retarded dumbfuck.
