The Thanksgiving Day discovery of human remains in a Kansas
man’s shed led to the bail bondsman's arrest Friday in the
battery of his missing 7-year-old son and a 29-year-old woman,
FOX4KC reported.

Investigators continue to work to identify the human remains.

Michael A. Jones, who is being held on a $10 million bond, is
set to appear in court Monday on charges of aggravated battery,
aggravated assault with a firearm and child abuse.

Jones’ neighbors in the town of Piper told FOX4 they heard
gunshots on Wednesday, which prompted police to investigate.
Cops subsequently learned Jones’ son had been missing for “an
extended period of time,” according to the Kansas City Star, and
a search warrant turned up the human remains in a barn on
Thursday.

The woman Jones is accused of assaulting lived in the same home
he did, the district attorney said. Neighbors told the Star that
multiple children who lived on the property where the remains
were found were home-schooled and not often seen outside.
