Here's that #@%@# article by Frank Rau again. This article is old. It predates the
SAE test papers presented after that. Petrolon has responded to that article pointing out its inconsistencies. Last year, I just bought a new GMC Suburban and
looked into Slick 50 products in depth. They sent me numerous technically sound
articles about their research and that of independent labs. You don't get SAE
papers published if they are crap! I was and still am convinced that the product
will make a difference for engine longevity. So, I put it in my $30,000 truck.
I'll probably never really know for sure if the stuff works (I don't plan to tear my
engine down @ 50000 miles!) but it doesn't look like it could do any harm and its
reasonably cheap (considering the cost of the vehicle).
