I'm sure I have a speed limiter at 100 miles/hour on my Explorer Sport
99 with V6 SOHC since when I get to that speed, it simply goes on compression... Exactly like my friend's Cavalier Z24 does at 110 miles/hour... Can anybody point me to any official documentation that I could use to get this fixed? Everybody I ask tells me that it should cut at 112miles/hour and not 100miles/hour, but I can't find any proof anywhere... I sure would like to get my dealer to fix it, but they say that if it cuts at 100miles/hour, it cuts at that speed and that's it, not their problem...

That you think it's acceptably safe to drive 100MPH in a SUV with a crude leaf spring suspension, is exactly why Ford doesn't want you to. However, the limitation in your case is probably axle ratio versus the RPM limiter. I suppose you could change
that axle ratio or buy taller tires to make the ride even less safe, but please wreck into a guard rail or tree instead of a fellow driver.
