LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says
two people were killed in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning
in the east valley.
According to police, the crash occurred at about 2:09 a.m. on E. Lake Mead Boulevard west of Los Feliz Street.
Evidence at the scene and video surveillance indicates that a 2002
Chevrolet TrailBlazer, which was occupied by two unrestrained males, was traveling westbound E. Lake Mead Boulevard west of Los Feliz Street at a
high rate of speed, LVMPD said.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified by police as a 17-year-old male,
failed to maintain control of the vehicle traveling left of center and
into a brick wall. Police said the vehicle was then redirected back onto
the roadway where the passenger, an 18-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle.
Arriving medical personnel pronounced both the driver and passenger
deceased at the scene.
The full identities of the victims, as well as the cause and manner of
death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s office.
The deaths mark the 84th and 85th traffic-related fatalities in Las Vegas police’s jurisdiction for 2023. The crash remains under investigation.
