    to point B.

    Often times during the day that is done by an airplane.
    But this was after midnight and I doubt Oregon State Patrol
    does that then.

    In another article of this, they say it was done by LIDAR
    (somewhat similar to radar). Hmm, perhaps if they were
    already set up and working. ....
