I don't believe Scott Tucker's D Sports Racer has been discussed here yet.

Fans of "Dinner with Racers" podcast will of course be familiar with the
    insane story behind it.

Daniel DeRosia Really wish there was more technical details available -
under the skin pictures, specs, etc.

Lee Fjellanger Part of the issue was there was 'significant' staff hired
by Tucker to provide security / secrecy for him and car. It was such a
total change to all the other DSR competitors.

Daniel DeRosia Oh I know, I saw it at the runoffs. But after the fact...
it had to have gone somewhere

Lee Fjellanger When cost is not a concern. All new design and build. A
new engine was put in every time it went out on the track.

Lee Fjellanger From the wiki, "SCCA
In 2012, Tucker was the national title holder in the D Sports Racing
driving a West, claiming the SCCA record lap at Road America with a time
of 1:58.997.[32] West Race Cars was purchased by Level 5 in 2011, and significant resources and money were expended by Level 5 to build the record-breaking car.[33]" They do not provide figures for what is "significant", for a billionaire!

Derek Kiefer Listen to the podcast in the original post. It would be unbelievable if it was any other team!

Lee Fjellanger Others had known that the SCCA rules on supercharging / turbocharging (was it a 1 to 1.5 ratio?, thus allowing a 667cc engine to replace an unblown 1L engine?) made that choice more powerful. Many
individual efforts had tried it, but all failed for lack of time &
money. With Tucker / Level 5, they just did it!
