An injured racing driver is made into a bionic man too like existing injured pilot Steve Austin. Possibly inspired by Baffled - a weird TV pilot which Leonard Nimoy had made.
(He was initially called Barney Miller but when appearing in a later episode he was called Barney Hiller - to avoid confusion with the sitcom Barney Miller which had started by then).
