It will be interesting to see how Piastri performs against Norris. Let’s hope he doesn’t turn out to be another Stoffel Vandoorne, of whom much was expected but who ultimately disappointed.

Stoffel's junior record was nowhere near as impressive as Oscars
though. Stoffel didn't so F3 / GP3 and won GP2 on his second try.

2nd on his first try and absolutely dominated the next season... and
not in a dominant team that Prema was in F3 2020 when Piastri sneaked
the win.
"nowhere near as impressive"???

Jeez I fucked that up. Edited it to nonsense. I don't even know what
I was saying now.
2nd on his first try and absolutely dominated the next season... and
So he won the championship with twice the experience at that level
then.

Meh. Piastri's record of being the only driver to win three feeder
championships on the first try leading up to F1 stands. Lies, Damn
lies....
So your whole argument is that narrowly winning GP3 is demonstrably and significantly better that coming 2nd in GP2...
I'll leave you to argue with yourself about that.

Sir Tim
Make no mistake, Oscar is right up there with George. It would be a great battle between Lando and Oscar and the winner will be ...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
Those of us watching :-)
That said Oscar should win. I'm sort of torn between those two because Oscar is so damned good but I have a soft spot for Lando as I know one of his F3 crew who won me over with a summary of Lando's first test with the team. He was gushing with praise.
The battle I most look forward to and hope happens is a battle between George, Max, Oscar and Charles is in there too. I've been following F1 since 1964 and watching since 1981 and never have I seen four so closely matched, extraordinary drivers.
Also the quality of drivers behind them is really high. In the right car most are capable of winning a title and that shows up in the great midfield battles we see weekend after weekend.
I can't believe how spoilt I have been in recent years watching so many great young drivers battling out on the track. And, when I think it can't get better it does.
