    Hi Mark,

I didn't enter the Hungarian pool, I forgot, so I should get a dash or
zero as an entry. Yes I know I just talked myself out of 6 points....

Ar the standing rule is if regulars don't put in an entry then their previous race entry is used
    (afaiui).

If you look here you can see your picks for round 12 and 13 are the same: <http://www.conmy.co.uk/f1/f1.cgi>

You won't be the first to have benefited from this.

Yes - I took the executive decision (which no-one has argued with) that
this was the best policy. No-one gets to benefit from hindsight but
no-one has a completely zeroed round because of memory failure. This has
been the case for about four years now, and I think several people have
gone an entire season based on a single prediction. I have a horrible
feeling that someone like that may have actually beaten me in the pool
as a result, which is probably saying something about my ability to
    predict over a season!

Just seen I have been getting basic scores despite not bothering after the
1st few races because of this
maybe it is time to get active again & see if I can claw myself out of
    last place :-)

    Don't.

Last place is very comfortable - I've spent a lot of time there.

Moving up in the rankings just brings stress and paranoia. ("You're all stealing my picks...")

Thank you Mark. I wasn't aware you made such a rule, considering I'm
doing badly, a zero wouldn't make that much difference. I hope to get a
perfect score this weekend with Ferrari getting their shit together in
    Spa, Belgium, and Verstappen not.

There was such a large number of "defaults" at one stage - which was
actually more complicated to track than a "rollover" - that it made
little sense to differentiate purely based on who had agreed a default
and those who forgot/missed the time.

(On the other hand missing one or two rounds in some years can be the difference between being a meaningful participant and being out of the
running which, given it's just a bit of fun, doesn't feel right.)

No-one gets the benefit of hindsight and it's the same for all, so it
feels like a good idea for an informal competition.
