I won't believe Piastri to Alpine is done until its announced.

    Some thoughts:

This opens up the Alpine seat for Piastri, who otherwise was likely to
have been loaned out to Williams.

This is the second race-winner to abandon Alpine for greener pastures - although Aston Martin seems less green than McLaren. Perhaps Alpine has internal issues not so apparent from the outside?

Stroll Sr. must have decided that "mentoring Stroll Jr." is no longer a priority. Either that, or he's delusional.

Alpine/Renault is such a puzzle. They build the power units (hate that term), the car, and should have the money to hire any drivers they want. And yet they preform season after season like a customer team.

Not clear at all, and possibly.

Bottom line: He's got dosh, he's spending it, and Alonso is loving it.

I think it most likely that Piastri will go to Alpine and Logan Sargeant will replace Latifi at
    Williams.

    However I could be wrong...

It's been announced by Alpine; who emphasice that they have a firm
contract. There are reports, however, that Piastri's manager (Webber)
has been negotiating to get him into the McLaren seat (booting
Ricciardo), so this may not be the final word.

All I know is that if Fred's leaving the team, it's gonna be an absolute stormer next season.

Seems a bit strong from a guy who has not even driven an F1 car in a FP1 session. I hope for his sake that he has a signed contract in his pocket.
