All up some really good driving today, especially before they activated the DRS. I suspect we'd see better racing overtakes and 'less easy passes' with no DRS. These new cars don't seem to need it.
Was nice to see Lando get lucky. The team earned that.
Good to see the 'Cap' kicking in a little bit this year. It will be interesting to see it's effect as it tightens. I hope they don't concede to Mercedes pressure.

Disappointment of the day was seeing one driver sulking rather than supporting the team. Those races are what defines a great champion.

Disappointment of the day was seeing one driver sulking rather than supporting the team. Those races are what defines a great champion.Who sulked? I heard the immediate post-race team radio and Hamilton
sounded disappointed, but who wouldn't have been? He ended up in a very difficult position behind a car that was fast enough to stay ahead of
him (but slower than his car) which was itself behind a car fast enough
to stay ahead.
As I've said (too many times to count) Lewis is a great driver.
If he couldn't get by, then I doubt anyone else in the same car could have.
Several to choose from this weekend.
Max takes driver of the weekend, was so delicious when he lapped Lewis. Gasly keeping Hamilton at bay. Russell had a great drive way way ahead of his senior.. Bottas put on a show.
I give it to Norris, getting a podium spot in that car was very impressive.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the reason for the slow
deployment of DRS was that they wanted to see how much passing could be
done without it.

Not much (apart from resulting from a few situations. Followed by not
much after activation too.
Largely a boring track, especially in those conditions.

And TSU did pretty well too, for a rookie.
Any track with a dry line is going to be boring.

Yup, good thing we have Mr Baker around here to explain this to us
non-racing people who wouldn't understand because we've never raced an
open car before ...
You're not at ALL butthurt.

If you still needed convincing, todays race proves that the drunk blind mice running F1 have actually stubbled into a good aero/tire rule set.
As for DotD; Hamilton had a great recovery after being hit sadly marred by that team warning at the end. Russel put up a sterling defense for lap after lap.
But I'll give DotD to the race winner this time, way to overcome the balky DRS.

turning their heads to look at the upcoming apex
turning their head to each side to keep track of a following car.

In the absence of a "thumbs up" icon to click on, I shall just do a
polite hat doff to show appreciation for that.
I think "whingey fucker" was a phrase that passed my lips in those early laps.
I just had to double-check how to correctly spell "wingey", and the g/f
just proffered "H-A-M", not even knowing I was writing this post.
